What?
We are doing and proposing Wildlife Tourism in Palm Oil Plantations as a method to mitigate human-elephant conflicts. We try to raise the profile of the Borneo Elephants in plantations by doing wildlife tourism. To plantation owners over Sabah,Elephants are viewed as a pest. We believe Elephants can be an asset instead of a liability. We also do tree planting especially ficus planting in a wildlife corridor. The tourists plant trees and get to do four wheel safaris to search for elephants.Let's change perceptions, together
Where?
Tawau and hopefully more plantations in Sabah
Goals?
Plant 10,000 trees and raise 1 million ringgit in profit through Elephant tourism in plantations. To do enforcement in plantations to reduce hunting and pressures on Elephant and other fauna.Change mindsets of locals regarding Elephants
